U.S. High Speed Rail praises FRA chief’s support for Brightline West federal investment

Washington, D.C.—May 1—U.S. High Speed Rail, a leading coalition of labor, business and other advocates for high-speed rail nationwide, praised Federal Railroad Administration Chief David Fink for voicing strong interest in investing in Brightline West’s high-speed rail project in Las Vegas. Fink made the comments at an April 30th conference in Washington, D.C.

Brightline West will take passengers 218 miles from Las Vegas to Southern California in approximately two hours at speeds up to 200 mph. The project applied last September for a $6 billion loan from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
